It seems that wherever you turn these days, you can’t truly escape technology. Even just walking down the street, there’s more people looking at their phones than not. The same goes for entrepreneurs, where technology is a lifesaver for them. Entrepreneurs use technology for just about everything, from appointments to invoices. With the limitless possibilities that cell phones and computers provide, businesses can grow with that same vigor! Here’s just a few ways that entrepreneurs use technology to maximize not just profits, but their time too!

1) Never Lose Track of Appointments With Google Calendar

With its ability to sync and alert all of your devices at once, this app is incredible. You can make an appointment from anywhere, and never have to worry about forgetting where you wrote it down! Plus, Google’s other apps will help your calendar be more helpful! For example, if your appointment is set for a specific address, Google will alert you before it’s time to leave your home. Google Calendar sends the address to Google Maps, calculates how long it will take to arrive, and notifies you before you need to leave!

Another great feature is Google’s ability to track the timing of some public transportation. If you need to pick someone up from the train, Google can notify you whether their train is on time, or running late! How cool and useful is that!? Overall, with the vast resources Google has at their disposal, Google Calendar is the superior calendar application.

2) Keep Yourself On Task With Freedom.to

If you’re like me, you find yourself getting off-task very easily. Even if you aren’t, and can hold your own against distractions, it’d be much easier to just wipe those distractions out! With Freedom.to, control over your focus goes back to you! Their user-friendly interface allows you to block off all of the things you’d normally be tempted to click, or play. I know I need it, for sure! This is a simple, easy way to skyrocket your productivity! Their website can tell you even more of how it works, what else it can do, the works!

3) Buying and Selling on Craigslist

This may not seem like it fits in with this list, I know. Craigslist, for entrepreneurs? How would that work? Well, there’s no sense in repeating what I’ve already said before! You should open these in new tabs, and read up on How I Went From A Free Snowblower To A Free Porsche, and my very own Steps to Craigslist Success after you’ve finished here! It may not seem like it, but this is a very viable way entrepreneurs use technology!

4) Reach Your Files From Anywhere With RemoteDesktopManager

Have you ever been out and about, maybe at a meeting with a client, and wished you had something with you that was saved on your PC? Or maybe even just at a family gathering, and wanted to show baby pics that are on your hard drive at home? I know I have, and I’m thankful that I had my remote desktop software to save me! With RemoteDesktopManager, you can log in to your home computer from anywhere, and browse as if you were sitting in your office! Not only that, but you can transfer files from your PC to your current device quickly and simply.

5) Give Step-By-Step Video Instructions With ScreencastOMatic

Ever tried to explain something, but the person you’re talking to just doesn’t seem to get it? Wow, me too! This is probably one of my biggest pet peeves, even though its partly me not being clear. Regardless, it’s impossible to fail with a video *showing* them exactly what to do! With ScreencastOMatic, you can create recordings of your screen, and walk them through the task, step by step. Their easy-to-use software includes a whole host of features too, including highlighting (or eliminating) your cursor from the video, a built-in video editor, and more! You can even record your voice with your video, and even your face, for further instruction.

The instructional video was just an example, the possibilities with such a thing are literally limitless! You could make YouTube videos with this as well, utilizing their webcam recording feature, to overlay in a corner. Really, anything is possible, the limits are only your creativity! Best part is, it’s totally free to start! There’s a paid option if you so choose later, but I personally still use the free version, because it does everything I need!

6) Starting Up Your Online Business’s Stunning Website With Bluehost

This one is easily the most relevant to me, as it’s where you’re reading this! Yes, this site is hosted through Bluehost, the best balance between speed, UI friendliness, and being inexpensive. Bluehost, and WordPress along with it, help keep this site up and running while we add new content. With their excellent support team, as well as their already-great platform, no problem ever makes it past an hour for us! If the tool doesn’t already exist to help, their team has custom-made script to help us on multiple occasions.

Included in their variety of plans are a free SSL Certificate, unmetered bandwidth (super valuable!), included domains and websites, and much more! Atop that, their plans start as low as $2.95 per month! Really, at $35 a year, that’s less than the cost of refueling my car once! Anybody can set that aside, it’s literally a dime a day to use!

7) Teach Anything With Teachable

Going hand in hand with ScreencastOMatic, Teachable allows you to compile all that knowledge into one place, and share it with the world.. for a price, of course. This time, though, you get to choose what that price is, how much they have to pay to view your content! And for even less than your hosting ($30 a year on the base plan), almost all the revenue from your course is pure profit!

Not only can you create and sell your own courses, but you can find others’ content that they’ve already made, and learn from them! Really, it’s a win for everybody involved here.
